Here is a charming traditional “Mexican Wedding Necklace”, made of hollow silver openwork spheres with original tag from Guatemala, circa 1970s.
Made to drape over the bride and groom at the ceremony, the lengthy necklace is hand wrought from unmarked silver or silver plate, consisting of elongated chain links with openwork beads or spheres, which measure approximately 15mm in size.
The necklace itself measures approximately 76 inches around, and can be worn doubled as shown. It weighs about 100 grams, and still has its original paper label for “Made in Guatemala”.
